If you haven’t already done so you need to demo ‘Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning‘ on your PS3, Xbox360 or PC. This open world RPG is a collaboration between the founder of Image Comics and creator of Spawn, Todd McFarlane, former major league baseball pitcher and superstar Curt Schilling and New York Times bestselling author, R.A. Salvatore.  The 45 minute demo is absolutely spectacular! We here at Couchgeek cant get enough of it. I for one have  already played it 4 times and want more! The fights are epic and weapon switching is seamless. No more pausing the action to go into a multi level menu just so you can switch from a sword to a hammer or other secondary weapon. The smart button assignments makes it a breeze. This game is forever going to change the RPG genre. Click the Kingdoms of Amalur link above to learn and more.

If you are a Mass Effect fan this demo has some goodies for you. Also, stop by later for the Mass Effect Demo coming soon, we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime ‘Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning’ is set for release on February 7, 2012. Go get it and tell us what you think. You can post your comments here or hit us up on twitter at twitter.com/couch_geek.

OK, so You have an iPhone or Android device, and you love horror movies but you’re sick of the crap that Hollywood endlessly regurgitates. Maybe you have ideas brewing and think you can do better. Well hold on to your potatoes, head over to your iPhone or Android app store and download Popcorn Horror. You don’t need a production company mega-budget, expensive cameras, lights or pretty sparkly teens. Shoot a 1 to 20 minute movie, submit it to Popcorn Horror and they do the rest. You can even get paid if they accept your movie. Looks like you’re all out of excuses. So get out there, get to work and lets see what you can do!

Warner Bros. and Steven Spielberg are teaming up to bring the Moses story back to the big screen ala Braveheart. ‘Gods and Kings’ will be nothing like Cecil B. Demille’s 1956 epic starring legendary actor Charlton Heston. This version will be a dark and battle realistic story done in the Spielberg’s blockbuster style we all know. Cue the Saving Private Ryan clip. To quote a Deadline  insider, “There have been glossy versions of the Moses story, but this would be a real warrior story.” We will watch this one closely and keep you updated as things develop. Spielberg has just finished directing his latest project, ‘Lincoln’ and is expected to begin Principal photography for ‘Gods and Kings’ around the spring of 2013, right after he finishes work on his next movie, ‘Robocalypse’.
